 RENOVATION PROJECT

Our design studio is located in the beautiful Comox Valley, British Columbia.  

Most of our plans start with a sketch and brainstorming (pencil to paper) followed by a the creation of a 3D rendering, which brings the vision to life and allows us to play with textures and colours.

We completely redesigned and renovated this former bedroom into the new home for our studio. In order to create value for resale or rental at a later date, we designed this so that the desk can be pulled out and replaced with a queen bed. The side tables then become night tables.

RENOVATION PROJECT

We had a lot of fun working on this kitchen transformation. Working with our fabulous client, we helped her turn her traditional kitchen into a contemporary space more in line with her vision. The kitchen was transformed from a dark and cramped space into a light, bright and airy gourmet kitchen. Every inch of this project was thought out in advance including the hidden panelled dishwasher, drawer heights to fit our client’s pots and specialized drawer inserts. Other bespoke features include the dining banquette designed specifically for our client’s seating preferences, custom maple live edge table and 180 degree opening doors to the laundry area for ease of access.

5-Star Hotel Style Master Ensuite

 RENOVATION PROJECT

We utilized the hallway leading to our client’s small existing master bathroom to add function and create this two-room, spa-like master ensuite. The addition of the extra space enabled us to add a plethora of storage space, including a floor-to-ceiling custom built-in closet and a bespoke oak face-framed double vanity, custom-stained to coordinate with the tones in the cork flooring they have installed throughout the rest of their home.

We completely redesigned and renovated this former small bathroom and hallway into a deluxe hotel inspired master ensuite with heated tile floors throughout, custom vanity and closet, walk-in shower and freestanding tub in second room.

Comox Commercial Building Gets Upscale Exterior 

 

 DESIGN PROJECT

This commercial health services building located on the waterfront in downtown Comox underwent a complete exterior transformation with the help our our design work. Keeping in mind the nautical theme and heritage style of other newer buildings in the downtown Comox core, we worked with our clients to add exterior design features that lent a more upscale craftsman look to the building.

A Bright and Modern Powder Room with Bespoke In-Wall Storage

POWDER ROOM DESIGN PROJECT

We transformed this formerly dark and traditional powder room into a modern and bright space. High gloss wall tiles bounce light around the room, while timeless penny tiles bring in some pattern and texture to add interest to the space. We also designed a bespoke in-wall cabinet to add a feature that gives our client bonus storage space.

RENOVATION PROJECT

This luxurious master ensuite is the result of a lot of careful thought put towards aesthetics, function and safety; plus, careful attention to detail (down to the 1/32 of an inch) by all involved in this project (including our fabulous clients)!

Thanks to my hubby Dustin Kneeland (Main Street Renovations), for triple thinking every move on this complicated install. This spa-like bathroom includes an undermount quartz Bain Ultra tub with heated airflow and back rest and a custom steam shower with heated floors and seat. Other luxuries include heated towel rack, custom vanity, hidden storage cabinet behind artwork (thanks Charlie Mitchell), specialty lighting and more.

An install like this goes smoothly with the right team:)

From Dark & Dated to Fabulous Farmhouse

 

HOME DESIGN & STYLING PROJECT

HomeGlow owner Sharleen & her husband Dustin, owner of Main Street Renovations, have been gradually transforming this iconic 1935 Courtenay property on 5th Street into a showcase for their work.

 

When they purchased the home in 2009, it had knob and tube wiring, no insulation, years of wear & tear and just few updates since 1935. Today, it's a bright and airy space with an open floor plan and vintage craftsman style.

Classic French style landscaping & patio compliments the property and lends an air of opulence.

Waterproof Studios Lobby, Vancouver

This 3D animation studio lobby area needed an overhaul to create a space that would welcome staff and executives. The long, dark and windowless lobby created some design challenges, but gave us the opportunity to come up with some creative solutions to make the space more welcoming. We added lighting to highlight their feature artwork, plus mirrors to bounce more light around the room and create the illusion of a wider space. The moss wall opposite adds a biophilic design aspect to soften the space and further compensate for the lack of windows.

The concept floor plan shows potential furniture placement and sizes as well as added feature lighting.

We designed the initial concept with the idea of a whiteboard in mind on the back wall. Through the process, the clients decided to change the use of this wall to make it a backdrop featuring their logo for video conferencing with clients in LA and New York.
